Welcome to Active Later Life

Active Later Life aims to help you maintain your independence through keeping active in later life.

We deliver an evidence-based strength and balance programme called Strong and Steady, designed for people aged 65+ who are at risk of trips or falls, or has experienced a fall within the past 6 months. The programme is designed to help you improve your balance, strength, co-ordination and your confidence to get out and about. Social benefits can also be gained from participating in this programme as all classes finish with social time over a cup of tea/coffee.

Our Wellbeing team work very closely with local NHS professionals and GPs who refer people to the programme. We have a team of instructors who are well qualified and experienced to support you to improve your strength and balance. Our programme is flexible and can be adapted to meet your health needs. Our participants enjoy getting out of the house and meeting like minded people as well as benefiting from being more active.

Our local Age Uk are contracted to complete triage questions with anyone interested in attending the course. To find out if you/your family member or friend is eligible for Strong and Steady, please contact Selby Age UK on 01757 704115.
