 Managing Director Pete Burt

Pete Burt has been our managing director since January 2015, taking charge of an organisation with many successes under its belt.

Before becoming Managing Director, Pete was the charity's executive director of business development responsible for growing and enhancing its health and wellbeing services.

Pete has occupied a series of senior roles across the private sector, at high-profile organisations including Centrica and Scottish Power and as managing director of an independent electrical appliance servicing business.

His widely-respected commercial aptitude ensures partners receive maximum social and capital returns for their investment and commitment.

"Inspiring healthy lifestyles is a socially-motivated, commercially-focused organisation devoted to improving lives through health, fitness and wellbeing services," said Pete.

Cost-effective healthy lifestyle services

"We provide fully integrated and cost-effective healthy lifestyle services to a wide range of partners whose communities we serve.

"Since we became a charitable trust in 2003 we have concentrated our efforts on expanding minds through cultural offerings, and shrinking waistlines which reduces the funding provided by local authorities and public health commissioners to keep communities healthy.

"Our ultimate aim is to create new and healthy behaviours by showcasing the many benefits of adopting healthier lifestyles."

Facilities investment and innovation

He added: "Facilities investment and developing new and innovation ways to get people active are at the heart of everything we do.

"We recognise all our services have to be enjoyable and accessible to our end users if we're to create new habits and change established behaviour."

Pete has a BA Honours Degree in Town Planning, a Diploma in Marketing and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Pete’s passions include keeping himself fit through cycling, running and fell walking in the Lake District. He is also an avid football fan, following his beloved Preston North End.
