No need to hibernate this winter with exciting new developments underway!

Exciting new developments at Selby Leisure Centre and Summit Indoor Adventure are all set to go this winter.

The work, which has been made possible by investment from Selby District Council, will include new party and functional spaces to bring new and exciting aspects to our party offering, all new children’s classes, an extended gym and new group exercise programmes including mind and body classes. Development will begin Monday 26 November and continue through to early February.

Over the next few months you’ll still be able to stay warm in the sauna, bring the family to free bowling and of course, meet Santa at Summit. The work aims to provide a more versatile offer to our popular party spaces and add new possibilities to our current schedule.

These developments are coming in to meet the demand on the space most used by the Selby community. Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles Managing Director Peter Burt said: “We need to remain flexible in order to meet the constantly changing needs of customers. These exciting changes provide us with more usable space across the sites and allow us to meet the growing demand for exercise classes, parties and events.

Cllr Mark Crane, Leader of the Council and the executive member with responsibility for leisure services, said: “By developing Summit we can ensure we provide the people in Selby and surrounding area the space they really want from their leisure facilities.”

None of the work will affect the current offering, including the very popular climbing wall, ride and skate park, adventure play area and aerial trek and bowling. There is fantastic schedule of events of the winter. Have a look at our Drop and Shop, meet Santa and more events on our Facebook page.
