Tennis Juniors take on 2.6 challenge

Robin Park Junior Tennis players took on 2.6 challenge to raise over £1,500 for Wigan health services.

Running 2.6 miles each, the group of ten completed a team marathon on Saturday morning to raise funds for Wrightington Wigan and Leigh Health Services Charity. The group ran the distance individually, supported online by teammates and friends, and by family from their households.

Ben Chilvers, Tom Davies, Hailey Duff, Brennan Foster, Isabella Holland, Harry Lamb, Tom O’Brien, Dylan Sharpe, Sam Tyre, and Isla Weird each completed their run in Robin Park Team team kit with a sign design by Isabella Holland.

Donations have continued since the challenge on the groups Just Giving page and the group received a huge shout out on social media from tennis legend, Billie Jean King.

Robin Park Tennis players usually train at Robin Park Leisure Centre, managed by Inspiring healthy lifestyles, and have been taking part in challenges and drills set by head coach Neil on the Leisure Centres Facebook page and twitter account.
